About Us

Pinch and Dollop is an original, homebased little business. Everything is handmade with love by Anne and Robyn.

The idea was born from us deciding one Christmas to only give handmade gifts to all our family and friends to save money and still being able to give. This “morphed” into loads of suggestions and requests to make our “gifts” available to buy.

We did not quite realise how much work was involved in this made to order process. All of a sudden we had to design a professional label and packaging and pricing our products. Can you imagine the stress….we are both single parents with full time jobs. This “gift” idea has now turned into a little side business making product at night and over weekends.  

 

We love the fragrance of all products and have spent many hours “cooking” it up. In the beginning we worked with no measurements hence the name “a pinch of this and a dollop of that”; adding fragrance, flowers, teas and oils to our own specifications. Obviously we had to change this approach and have worked out a far more measured/precise way in which each product is made.

“Pinch” as we now refer to ourselves is the proud owner of a growing recipe book detailing each product’s recipe and quantities.

 

We hope to change our range every few years in order to not become stale. Discovering a new fragrance and product is what makes this a fun and exciting hobby and ultimately a business.

Our kitchens often look like a “witches den” as we experiment and try new things. Our children being the guinea pigs on many occasions.

 

Robyn’s daughter of 7 has an extremely sensitive skin and can only use prescribed lotions. Our body cream has now become her all- time favourite as she can decides what “smell” she wants and never complains about it burning her.

 

All products are as natural as possible with many of the ingredients being home grown and sustainable. Both of us being environmentally conscious, we strive to keep our packaging and containers as natural as possible; utilising mainly glass and paper. So, remember please recycle where you can.

 

Many of our customers bring their containers back to have them re-filled ….saving all of us a cent or two.
